It's time to drive a 'green' supercar!

For motoring, as they say,the times, they're a-changing. The paradigm shift towards greener and cleaner vehicles has taken the automobile industry by storm and the eco-friendly cars we're seeing now are just the tip of the iceberg - the larger part that lurks underwater is laden with the promise of better sense.
Read that as fully-electric and completely unexciting zero-emission vehicles. While eco-mentalists may rejoice about this, for ardent petrolheads it sounds like the death knell for proper supercars - and that does have us sweating under our collars a bit. The thought of this iceberg of sensibility brings a sense of wintery gloom to the otherwise warm (or should we say 'global warming' ) world of automobiles. With our true supercars turning blue in the cold, there could be a few green ones that might just keep the fires burning bright. And in the process, bring some much-needed warmth to the hearts of auto aficionados.

Revving up for the Futuresource Zero Emission Vehicle Zone

The waste and recycling sector is regarded as a prime market for alternative-fueled vehicles. With this in mind, Futuresource revealed earlier this year that the 2010 event will include a brand new interactive demonstration arena dedicated to low and 'zero emission' vehicles and plant.  Since this announcement, the all-new ZEV Zone has hit top gear and is looking to steal the show!
Visitors will not only be able to see the latest green machines in action, but also test their driving skills on a range of electric vehicles. Confident drivers might also want to rise to the daily ZEV Cup Challenge, and race the clock to complete a number of tasks. A bottle of bubbly is up for grabs for successful candidates.
The ZEV Zone has something for everyone, from the world's first all-electric 360 materials handler, the Solmec 106ZE, right through to the smallest electric vehicle on display - Epower Trucks' EP electric barrow.
